About me
An accomplished photographer and naturalist, Carlye Calvin has documented a vast range of atmospheric phenomena. A long time resident of Colorado, Carlye earned her bachelor's degree in biology and fine arts at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She began her NCAR career with the High Altitude Observatory in 1986 and joined the center's photography team in 1990. Carlye has provided images for UCAR/NCAR publications and the Digital Image Library for more than 25 years. Many of her wildlife photos are featured in biology textbooks. One of Carlye's photographs of a lenticular cloud appeared on a U.S. postage stamp in 2003 as part of the "Cloudscapes" series.
